Some have been in France before, and some haven’t—but all Hamilton in France students are excited about this new and unique experience that started a couple of weeks ago: living and studying in Paris. Why? Because they now get to speak French on a daily basis, live in a country with a different culture, take classes with a different academic approach, take up new personal and intellectual challenges, discover the intricacies of the Paris transportation system, and of course, they get to pick their favorite bakeries.
Here are a few photos from the past weeks, from the moment students first walked on French soil to their first classes at Reid Hall.
Students arrive at Roissy-Charles de Gaulle Airport.
As an introduction to Paris, we went on a boat cruise on the Seine. It is a very peaceful way to discover the city.
Professor Lemaire teaches a French class as part of orientation.
At Reid Hall, we are lucky to be located near the neighborhood of Montparnasse and all its lovely crêperies.
During orientation, Professor Mongo-Mboussa teaches a class on Diversity in France.
On the first weekend, we went to see the historic neighborhood of Montmartre.
Another class that students take during orientation is an improvisation class. And it so happens that they have a limitless creativity!
