Tour Of U.S. Embassy’s George C. Marshall Center With Du Vernay ’03

A few weeks back, a group of Hamilton in France students went to visit the magnificent US Embassy’s George C. Marshall Center, also known as the Hôtel de Talleyrand, with Consul for Western France and Hamilton College alum James Du Vernay ’03. My favorite part of the internship at the Secours Populaire was the two weeks I spent at Rue Montcalm, theirfood pantry. In the morning I stocked shelves in the basement, where they keep meticuloustrack of every single food/toiletry item they have. [...] They provide lunch thereand everyone eats together in the kitchen, which was a really wholesome and uniquely Frenchexperience. In the afternoons they open for business, and I helped hand out a full shoppingcart’s worth of products to everyone who came through."
